In my store, I offer a variety and quality of authentic Alaskan jewelry that I believe you will find both surprising and delightful.
Virtually every piece you will see here is one of a kind. Each earring, pendant, necklace or bracelet incorporates unique stones or elements from nature ... and is created by hand using skills that have been honed through time and experimentation.
Some use ancient methods, some display the freshest kinds of contemporary techniques -- but all represent art that happens to be wearable as jewelry.
Jewelry Arte Line
Growing up surrounded by the wild beauty of Alaska gave me an appreciation for nature’s gifts including an interest in gems and minerals.
I personally select each stone or fossil for the character I see in its unique pattern and color. Antique trade beads, artifacts, and hand crafted glass and metal beads may also be incorporated into a piece of jewelry. All jewelry is crafted with sterling silver or 14k gold-filled alloys.
Katia Pflipsen Olivova is a third-generation glass and jewelry artist, originally from the Czech Republic. Growing up in a family of artists, art and design have always been a major part of Katia’s life. She studied glass painting and design at the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Kamenicky Senov followed by two years of jewelry design study in Jablonec before moving to the US in 2006 to continue working and developing her technique.
In 2014 Katia and her glass artist husband Steve moved to Sitka where the beauty of the local nature continues to inspire them.
